Student Demographics

Gender averages a 50-50 split between male and female for all students Preschool through 8th-grade.
We typically enroll families from Parker, Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Elizabeth, Aurora, Highlands Ranch, and Centennial. Enrollment is not limited to these areas.
We enroll K-8 families from different Christian denominations, including (but not limited to): Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Evangelical, Non-Denominational, Catholic, Assemblies of God, Church of Christ, and Greek Orthodox.
We enroll Preschool families of any faith background.
Most of our 8th-grade graduates continue their education at Lutheran High School, Valor Christian High School, Regis Jesuit High School, or their local public high school (in order of popularity).

Sample Schedule

Transportation

SCS does not have a bus route. We rely on parents to drive their own students to/from school. Many parents opt to form carpools with nearby families once enrolled.
We rely solely on parent and staff drivers for student transportation to/from off site field trips. No bus is provided for field trips.
Preschool students must be picked up from, and dropped off to, their classroom inside each day.
K-8 students can be picked up through the carpool pickup line, or via the walk-up line. They can be dropped off from the carpool line or walked into the building as far as the school lobby.

Lunch

Our Preschool students are required to bring lunch from home, as well as snacks, depending on their enrollment schedule. The Preschool is a nut-free facility.
K-8 students can either bring lunch from home or purchase lunch through our hot lunch program. Hot lunch is typically an online, order-ahead system. There is no food available for purchase day-of. K-8 is NOT a nut-free facility.
K-8 student snacks are parent-provided.

Before/After-Care

Before care for currently enrolled Preschool students runs from 7:30 am-8:30 am at a rate of $10/child/day. It runs on a drop-in system and is subject to availability.
There is no before care offered for K-8 students.
After-care for currently enrolled K-5 students runs from 3:30-5:30 pm at a rate of $25/child/day. It runs on a scheduled and/or drop-in basis.
There is no after-care offered for Preschool students.

Summer/Back-to-School

There are no school-sponsored programs or camps over the summer months. Additionally, K-8 tours are typically closed.
K-8 supply lists are available on our website on an annual basis. They are also emailed to currently enrolled families.
There is no required summer reading or activities for SCS students.
SCS hosts New Parent Orientation sessions before the start of school with information that will prepare new families for the first 2-3 weeks of school.
SCS hosts an annual Meet-the-Teacher day before the first day of school. This is a time to meet & greet your child’s teacher and drop off supplies. Our Parent Community Organization typically co-hosts a family picnic in the parking lot with carnival games, food, and a used uniform sale.
SCS hosts K-8 Back-to-School night annually at the end of August. This is where parents learn grade-level specific information, including classroom policies and expectations.

Bible & Denomination

The K-8 school uses the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible.
The Preschool uses the Beginner’s Bible.
Our school is affiliated with the Christian Church, a non-denominational movement rooted in the desire to restore the unity and simplicity of the early Church as described in the New Testament.
- You do not have to be affiliated with the Christian Church denomination in order to attend SCS. We enroll K-8 families from different Christian denominations, including (but not limited to): Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Evangelical, Non-Denominational, Catholic, Assemblies of God, Church of Christ, and Greek Orthodox.

Accreditation & Licensure

SCS is accredited PS-8 by the Association of Christian School International (ACSI).
The Preschool is also licensed by Human Services through the State of Colorado.
