About Southeast Christian
40 Years of Christ-Centered Education
As an interdenominational school, our families come from many different churches in the area.
Our school aims to come along side of families to teach the same values of faith in school that you teach at home. Together, we develop the whole child to impact to world for Jesus Christ.
Families choose Southeast in large part because they want their child to have a peer group with strong Christian values and a rigorous academic program.
Southeast Christian School was first established as Christian Way School in 1977 at Gateway Christian Church in Aurora, Colorado. Richard Achenbach, or “Mr. A”, was the founding principal. The school was supported by five Denver area Christian churches and started with less than 50 students.
Today, we are an independent school with a student body flourishing with over 450 preschool through 8th grade students!
We hold ACSI accreditation from preschool to 8th grade.
Southeast is an academically advanced school with test scores outranking national averages. Take a look at the Reading and Math STAR Assessment Reports from a recent test date.
Each grade participates in a “Bible” class, as part of their core curriculum.
Middle School engages in apologetics and deeper theological discussions. This is truly when the students faith becomes their own.

All texts used in classroom instruction are vetted through an ACSI rubric which ensures no teaching contradicts our Statement of Faith.
Students are the heart and soul of Southeast and we couldn’t be more proud of how they represent our school, their families and most importantly our Lord and Savior. Routinely, we hear that having a school with a culture of honesty, kindness, respect and personal responsibility makes our school a safe and fun place for students to learn. There are a variety of ways that students connect with each other from academic and athletic pursuits to artistic programs such as art, drama and music. There truly is something for everyone at Southeast!
For more than 35 years the strength of the school has been our solid faculty, with an average tenure of more than 10 years! Besides parents, teachers are often the most influential adults in the life of a child. Southeast is blessed by staff members who not only teach, but act daily in many other capacities to support and guide students. These actions reflect the commitment our entire faculty has to being a positive role model for students; focusing on character development alongside academics. Many of our faculty members hold advanced degrees in a variety of disciplines. K-8 teachers are required to pursue ACSI certification in addition to their Colorado state license.
Parents are an integral and important voice in the lives of our students and the experience at Southeast. We believe in partnering with each student’s family to create a well rounded, continuous education experience at home and within our school. Many parents volunteer time within parent led organizations and opportunities that have great effect on the Southeast experience. We look forward to partnering with future parents to create Christian disciples ready for impact.

How do you infuse spirituality into regular student life at Southeast?
The education experience at Southeast is infused with scriptural principles and teachings in all academic subjects. Daily prayer and pledges to start each day. Weekly, age appropriate chapel services that include worship and special speakers that bring the word of God to life. Bible memory verses and Bible lessons are offered each week that provide spiritual foundations for students to apply in their daily lives. Development of conflict resolution skills resulting in respectful interactions with others and the ability of our students to take personal responsibility.
How do I pay for my child’s tuition?
There are two options to pay your tuition. You may pay your year’s tuition in full directly to the school on or before July 1st, or if arriving later in the year, prior to your child’s first day of class. Please note, we do not process payments via credit card. You may also pay monthly (September-May) through FACTS (our tuition management program) via automatic ACH transactions.
