Ephesians 4:12 To equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…
At Southeast Christian School, you will see Biblical integration across all subjects, as well as Bible as a core academic class. Our main focus is on instilling a Biblical worldview in our students, which teaches scriptural truths about God, Creation, Humanity, Mordal Order, and Purpose. Biblical Integration is more than just memorizing Bible verses. Our teachers are trained to integrate Biblical truths throughout every discipline. Students are encouraged throughout class to think about not only the content they are learning, but how it stands up to what God’s Word says is true.
Our teachers are highly qualified and ACSI certified. The ACSI certification requires extensive study and training in Biblical integration, with teachers submitting a Christian Philosophy of Education. Our teachers maintain their certifications and licensure by earning continuing education credits in Bible and Education
Classroom instruction at SCS includes Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies/History, and Bible.
Southeast Christian School commits to emphasizing Christian curriculum that meets our academic and Biblical Integration standards. Some of our current publishers include Bob Jones University and ACSI Press.
Our current math curriculum is Into Math, published by Houghton-Mifflin Harcourt. Into Math not only teaches students mathematical concepts, but its foundations in literacy concepts teach students how to read, write, speak, and listen as mathematicians. As students progress through each grade level, they have a deeper conceptual understanding that facilitates a higher level of understanding, versus traditional memory-based math concepts.
At Southeast Christian School, one of our goals is to shape students into disciples of Christ, giving them opportunities to show Christ’s love to their communities through service. Each February, SCS partners with a ministry organization to highlight during Chapel services and to our school community. In Elementary school, you can expect your student to experience a minimum of two service projects per year; one service project is chosen within the classroom, and the others are school-wide service projects provided by our Chaplain. Some examples of service projects for Elementary students include: cleaning up litter, visiting local nursing homes, writing to US Veterans, and Operation Christmas Child.
