PCO (Parent Community Organization) is made up of parents who are dedicated to supporting our school and building community. PCO advocates for the students & the school, meets regularly, conducts fundraisers, coordinates school activities, and promotes a Christian community. PCO has several groups that host community building activities and support the school (Room Parents, Parent in Prayer, Mom’s Time Out and Care Team). All are welcome to join! See below for more information about each of the groups and find a way to plug in. We are called to live in community–join us! Questions: pco@sechristianschool.org
Room Parents: Room parents help to support our teachers, throw class parties, and celebrate staff.
Parents in Prayer (PIP): Meets weekly to pray for the students, staff, school and church.
Mom’s Time Out (MTO): Meets for a book or bible study in the fall and in the spring in addition to a few gatherings just for fun. In the past this group has done a Christmas party, ornament exchange, clothing exchange, happy hour meet-up—lots of fun!
Steadfast Dads: Meets for book and bible studies throughout the year in the early mornings for fun and fellowship.
Care Team: The Care Team helps to support individuals in our community who are struggling or just need an extra hand. Had a new baby? We’ll help set up a few meals for delivery! Had surgery or a loss in the family? We’re here to help support your needs during tough times. All situations are taken care of with respect to privacy and family needs.
Used Uniform: This team gathers and sells hand-me-down uniforms to raise money for the school AND keep costs down for parents!
Fundraising: The fundraising team helps to organize and run our annual fundraiser! We also do passive fundraising through King Soopers and Longmont Dairy as well as monthly Spirit Nights at community vendors to support teachers and staff and school needs.
PCO Leadership: The leadership team meets regularly to help organize and run the six main community events we host each year in addition to the fundraiser: Meet the Teacher, Chili Cook Off, Mother/Son, Father/Daughter Dance, and End of Year Picnic. We also support all of the separate groups listed above. If you love to be involved and want to build the community, please join us!
Each month the PCO holds a community meeting on the first Friday of the month when school is in session from 8:30-9:30 am to share all of the things we have going on. ALL are welcome!
Getting involved with PCO is also the best way to complete the required 30 hours of volunteering annually! PCO provides lots of opportunities through the events that we host and our monthly newsletters will help keep you in the loop. Also, just by attending our monthly meetings, you can earn 1 volunteer hour!
